For me, there are a number of Fine Masters of Sak yant Photography, which has become a Genre in itself big enough to furnish the stage for the arrival of numerous coffee table and visually anthropological photographic works in book form. I would say there are also a lot of would-be sak yant photographers, who have little art or inspiration and use Photoshop sketch effect to insinuate a personal style of photography, i have seen a few of such type photographic ‘works’ all of which i myself can do on button push with Photoshop, and thus do not lend much value to.

The would-be’s followed in the Wake of the True Artist, whose work is inimitable and speaks for itself,  such as Cedric ArnoldMartyn Goodacre, and JP Candelier, whose work most of us are now familiar with, as well as the newer appearance of the Book ‘Sacred Tattoos of Thailand’, a  Semi Anthropological, Semi Urban Sub-Culture Photographic Documentary on the various Social Strata to be found in the world of Sak Yant, written by Joe Cummings and Photographs by Dan White. In my opinion Sacred Tattoos of Thailand , is the only Photographic Documentation Book in Print to date, that is not a simple visual coffee table book. it is a valid insightful work with anthropological insights here and there, and very astute observations that take up angles you may never have thought of.

As i write this post, and fly off in another browser tab to find the Facebook fan page of this Book by Joe Cummings and Dan White, i read sad news on their Fan Page that Dan has passed away, and received his Buddhist Rites at Wat That Tong in Bangkok on 23rd and 24th September 2012. His Amazing Work remains for us to Appreciate, may we all think of him in our prayers and send Metta for his Journey upwards through the Celestial realms towards eventual Buddhahood, as we all wish to attain the same.

Well, after that news,  what originally inspired me to post today, was a set of photos i have often admired by a Photographer who uses the handle ’13Maysa’ to stamp his or her Photos with. They are in my opinion of the best Sak Yant Photos i have seen as far as clarity, tonality, use of light and darkness and contrast are concerned, as well as how this photographer frames the areas of skin, or scenes within the photos.

Maysa also makes a lot of other photographic essays and documentaries, which you can admire and enjoy here;

The works of Cedric Arnold in Sak yant are amazing, but Cedric has truly honored Sak Yant by his documentation, for he is a distinguished World Class Photographer who has covered a host of very High Ranking or Famous Persons and covered many Top Level stories.

The same can be said for my friend Martyn Goodacre (Ex NME Photographer), who i was honored to meet when i journeyed to Luang Pi Pants temple with Maqi, a Globetrotting Bloggeress, and Suicide Girl who was writing a story about sak yant (one of the first people to cover the topic for readership in International publications such as Tiger Airways inflight magazine – this was already quite some years ago) Martyn is perhaps most famous for those Nirvana pics with Kurt Cobain.. or perhaps not, for his outstanding works are many. We have seen his works here on sak-yant.com before, in the gallery included below.

Bad news now;
Save all you wish to use from this website because the hosts, hostloco.com have not only destroyed the database and made it impossible to transfer to a new server, and have exercised their right to cancel the hosting plan, meaning that end of this month will see the end of sak-yant.coms content.
I am trying to save what info i can and hope to use sakyant.org to rehost and recreate a much better and more extensive website up to modern standards, and more professionally written (i have developed better skills over the years).

UPDATE!! 3RD MARCH; I have managed to save the whole website! – the data is safe and the sak-yant.com domain is in transfer process, but the whole info (which is what is important), is now available on www.am-ulet.com/sak-yant/

This will after domain transfer become the sak-yant.com domain and the link above will disappear, to be replaced by sak-yant.com

We can all therefore sit back and relax, knowing that the info is safe, whatever the new url may be 🙂

Neutral news of interest;
I shall be appearing on 4th of March on Thai TV talking about my life as a Layperson who practices Ruesi-Ism without it being an obstacle to Lay Life. (update!! – this show was shelved in the end)
some pics are attached to this post of the interview. I am in the process of seeking land to use for building an Ashram for Ruesi-ism and Buddhist meditation and house the Sak Yant Foundation and Museum within the premises in a separate wing, and slowly build a sacred place of practice and worship, which can be left to future generations to practice Buddhism. I shall be publishing the progress of this on the new sakyant.org website which is about to be redesigned and developed. In the moment it is unsatisfactory software and i wish to recreate it so that it fits the needs of the project i am planning. I have to go through legal channels so it will be a slow process to develop the ashram at first. But once a premises are obtained and i can start building i believe things will speed up.

Update! The Woody Talkshow has been Ruled Out and will not be shown, due to interior affairs influencing the decision. The reasons are unknown and have not been stated. I myself actually prefer to talk about Dhamma and Buddhist Path of Practice more than Occult and Ruesi-Ism, which was part of the Gist of the Talkshow, to begin by giving the impression that Black magic was the main issue, but then to show that in fact, what i practice is the Buddhist Path of Vipassana Kammathana Mindfulness and Jhana Meditation, but that i like to gather and preserve and also practice on en entirely personal level, what i have come to term ‘Buddha Magic’. Buddha Magic is however, not the path which i am advertizing, rather that of the Introspective practice of Cultivating the Factors of Enlightenment.

Sak Yant, and Buddha Magic, are worldly activities/interests
The Maggha is Unworldly – literally Out of This World. The two are thus in no way related.

Sak Yant Thai Temple Tattoos – The Sacred Geometry of Buddhist Yantra, tattooed into the skin using magical incantations and Khmer Sanskrit prayers and magic spells to endow the wearer with supernatural protection, luck in love and business, wealth and good fortune. Sak Yant has been the core subject of sak-yant.com website galleries and blogs/forums since the beginning. But now i wish to expand in indcrease the content and quality of the content to include other topics, such as Saiyasart, Buddha magic, Sacred Amulets and their creation methods, Animist practices..

In order to be able to dedicate more time to investigation and writing and less time tattooing, i found i would nee to publish manuscripts and e-books in order to finance my time. This will allow me to write much more detailed information and present info which has never before been translated into English before.

Sak Yant website and blog, galleries, forums are being redesigned to try to offer more interactivity, as well as trying to streamline the site, making it easier to navigate. Some sections will remain permanent as pages 9the basic info about Yant and sak yant) and some pages (the Ruesi legends) will be moved to a different site concerning only the Ruesi.

This Sak Yant Blog Section is for now the main page , but will give way to the sak yant forums i plan to redevelop to incorporate a way of using galleries and forum together.. im still working on it.

Apart from the pages about sak yant and the sak yant blog section, i plan to start publishing on the subjects of amulets and other forms of Buddha Magic and Animism in Thailand. In addition i shall be releasing three types of e-magazine publications at periodic intervals (probably three a year of each type). One Magazine will be on Buddha magic in General, the second will be about Sak Yant ,and the third will be about Sacred Amulets.

You can go to the E-Publications page here on Sak-Yant dot com to see which publications are already released.

Go to E-Publications Section

My First Publication is “Sak Yant Buddhist Tattoos, Animist Magic, Spirit Possession” which is an E-Book of 298 pages with full color pictures and detailed information about Sak Yant, Sacred Geometry, Khom Sanskrit, Amulet creation methods, Kata (mantras) chanting for Yant and amulets, and many peripheral topics surrounding Sak Yant and Buddha Magic. This publication is now released and on sale as a pdf download on the e-publications page.

I shall be adding some new and more interesting than ever before posts here on the blog in the coming month, some of which shall be tasters from my upcoming publications.I feel it is fair to share the most important basic information for free, and make the detailed and less interesting to all but those seriously studying the topic available as e-publication manuscripts which can be collected and assembled into your own personal Magical Grimoires

[ad#wideadaqua90x728]

Blog posts are now on the front page of sak-yant.com, or can be searched using the tags or categories. Most important info about Sak Yant Thai Temple tattoos are in the pages section which is accessible through the navigation bar on the top of the page. Sak-Yant dot com is about to take on a new shape and present more quality documentation and info which is being made possible by the sale of the e-publications.
It is possible that if i find a way to integrate forums and galleries then i shall make that the front page instead of the blog section.

Please always return to the e-publications page about once every 60 days to see if there are any new e-magazines or books available.
